Detailed Itinerary:
DAY 1: Buenos Aires
Arrive at the Ezeiza International Airport and transfer to the Argentina Tango Hotel (or similar hotel). After settling in, enjoy an authentic tango show and delicious dinner of local cuisine in the city. Overnight at the Buenos Aires hotel.
DAY 2: Buenos Aires
Breakfast followed by a city tour of this vibrant South American metropolis. You have the evening free to explore the city, home to a wide variety of cultural activities – from tango shows to museums and churches to lively city squares. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3: Buenos Aires
Breakfast followed by a trip on a one-hour train ride (El Tren de la Costa) to the market in El Tigre, where you will find fresh produce and local crafts. This beautiful island, located just 30 kilometers from the city, is a great spot to explore. Upon return from the daytrip, you will have the evening free to explore the city. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 4: Buenos Aires - Ushuaia
Enjoy an early breakfast before your flight to Ushuaia, the end of the earth. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Vill Brescia Hotel (or similar hotel). After check-in, you will have the afternoon to explore downtown Ushuaia, often considered the most southernmost city in the world. Or, take this time to visit the fascinating El Presidio and Maritime Museums. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 5: Ushuaia
Breakfast followed by a morning boat ride on the famous Beagle Canal and the Bay of Ushuaia. We will visit three islands in the historic passage. The afternoon will be spent hiking in the beautiful Tierra del Fuego National Park, known for its stunning landscape and scenic Lapataia Bay. You will have the evening free. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 6: Ushuaia
Breakfast followed by a visit to the Harberton Estancia. Dating from 1886, the building, founded by the missionary Thomas Bridges, is the oldest farm on Tierra del Fuego (if traveling in winter the estancia is closed; therefore, dog sledding is an alternate option.) Enjoy a free evening. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 7: Ushuaia – El Calafate
After Breakfast you will take an early morning flight to Calafate, a small picturesque village in Patagonia, Argentina. Transfer to Hotel Koi Aiken (or similar hotel) followed by a free afternoon to visit the Calafate town center. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 8: El Calafate
Breakfast followed by a visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, a breathtaking glacier that is one of only three in the region that is not retreating. Enjoy a free evening. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 9: El Calafate
Breakfast followed by a boat tour on beautiful Lago Argentino. We will also visit the Upsala, Spegazzini, and Onelli Glaciers. Bring your camera to capture this amazing Patagonia adventure. Enjoy a free evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: El Calafate – El Chalten
Breakfast followed by an early morning journey to the small mountain village of El Chalten (3.5 hours). After checking in at El Puma Inn (or similar hotel), enjoy a free afternoon for hiking around the nearby Cerro Fitz Roy or other similar activity of your choice. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: El Chalten
Breakfast followed by a hiking expedition with an experienced, local guide to the breathtaking Cerro Fitz Roy Mountain. You will have the evening free. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: El Chalten
Breakfast followed by hiking with an experienced, local guide for an exciting trek to the base of Cerro Solo and Cerro Torre. Enjoy a free evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13: El Chalten
Breakfast followed by a thrilling day of mountain biking, rafting, horseback riding, rock climbing or hiking. You will be accompanied by a trained guide on the tour of your choice. You will have the evening free. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 14: El Chalten – El Calafate – Buenos Aires
Breakfast followed by an early morning transfer back to El Calafate for your flight back to Buenos Aires (in winter the transfer will leave the previous afternoon for El Calafate; therefore, an overnight in a hotel will be necessary). After arriving in Buenos Aires, you will be transferred to the Ezeiza International Airport for evening flight home to conclude your unforgettable South American adventure!
