My lifelong dream was to see a komodo dragon. Not only did I see one... but it chased me into a tree! After long days of kayaking around the shores of Indonesia, we stopped along the beaches and checked out the wildlife. Such an amazing and unique adventure- I'd do it again in a heartbeat (minus the dragon chasing me).

This is an amazing place to visit. While the Dragons were are a draw card, it was the magnificent waters and reefs and the friendly people that won me over. The sea kayaking was excellent. While not to difficult, there are some sections that you have to really dig in and push through as the current can be very strong. The highlights were Papagaran, a small village on an isolated island made up of people from all over Indonesia. Another was the flying foxes (or fruit bats) near Nusa Pimpe, 100,000's of them fly to the main land at dusk. Of course the Dragons were amazing, seeing them up close and guided by a local to some special places was great. Sea kayaking in this area was great. We gained access to islands others on larger boats couldn't and we camped on unihabited islands, isolated and away from the rest of the world. I highly recommend this trip to anyone who loves adventure, loves nature, loves the unknown and loves sea kayaking.
